well, as long as render times go, you can swap as many cards as you like and that won't make any difference to vray. rendering it's not aided by the gpu in any way, it's only a cpu task, to put it simple.

since max 9 it's much better to run direct3d display drivers instead of opengl. that's why people tend to avoid quadro cards and usually go for high end gaming ones. you might try to switch to directx and see how it goes, but I'm still on 9 so I don't really know how 2009 works..

      thanks for the reply,
i made a test scene and rendered it in my machine with this specification and it took 6 min17 sec to render it with my previous graphic card Nvida 1600 and it took same time with new Nvidia 4600 no improvement in display and in rendering time. so i checked with my friend machine with
      HP XW 6600
      intel xeon cpu
      e5430@2.66ghz
1.97ghz2.00gb ram with Nvidia quadro 3400/4400graphic card
and i got the rendering in 3 min12 sec.So is this machine problem or graphic card problem?

This is a graphic card/software problem as far as I know.
Had the same/similar problem with my fx3000 quadro card and 3dsmax some time ago.
The "3dsmax 2008 performance driver direct3d 9.0" worked wonders for me. Search Nvidia homepage if there's one for your card. Worth a try.

As far as I know, since a few years now the maxtreme drivers no longer use opengl but direct3d rather. So I don't see why one should avoid them.
