  • caustic and vray sun system

Does anyone have any advice regarding caustic showing on boat on the sea when using vray sun system?

You should target the sun photons (the green beam around the sun in the viewports) to fit around the boat as tightly as possible while still getting the effect that you want. If you need to shoot a lot of photons, you can use the "max. density" option in the caustics rollout of the render settings to save some RAM by merging nearby photons. I also prefer to set the "max. photons" to 0 and only play with the search radius to control the sharpness of the caustics - in that case, the search radius is typically 2-3 times larger than the "max. density" value.

thank sVlado but I can't see green beam. I can see it on standard vray sun but the one that is connectd with sunsystem there's nothing showing. Anyway I will create another vray sun match the position to sunsystem sun one and take beam size from it. I hope the results be the same.

You can still adjust the photon radius for the sun, you will just not be able to see it in the viewport when it is inside a daylight system.
