Vignette problem?

I'm just playing with a scene using a VrayPhysical cam, and the image gets darker and darker every time I zoom in (using zoom factor or lens focal length). I have tried it with vignette off and on (which doesn't seem to be making much difference at all btw). Is there something going on with the camera or the vignette in general or is it just me?

I've had this happen on an animated camera as well. It was almost like an auto exposure effect.
