Hello,
I am trying to simplify the irradiance map a bit, so I have a question for you: do you use the "Bucket" and "Add" (not "incremental add", I know everyone uses that
) modes of the irradiance map?
Initially the bucket mode was introduced to allow for DR with the irradiance map, since there was no way to synchronize the irradiance map between the slaves and the client machine; however this is no longer the case. The only use of it that I can see now is for a fast preview if you don't want V-Ray to make additional prepasses, but to proceed straight to the rendering.
The "add" mode was initally added because the "incremental add" mode was not very good; however this is no longer the case, and there is no particular reason to prefer the "add" mode over the incremental one.
Best regards,
Vlado
