  • Dark floor reflective gi very low.

Would I be correct in thinking that if I have a scene where the floor is a dark carpet and the gi reflected back to objects on the ceiling is very low, that I would have to use a vrayoveride material for the floor to increase gi reflected back ??

Im also wondering why, if vray is supposed to be phycially correct, that I would have to use a workaround ?

Most likely because you don't use LWF, otherwise you wouldn't have to do that.

Also, avoid using pitch black colors in your objects (RGB 0,0,0) as they will consume all the light that would bounce from them. Something like RGB 1,1,1 or RGB 2,2,2 should be fine.

Yeah, the rgb value of the floor is about 8,8,8

How is the scene light? Like with outside sun/sky or artificial lights - night scene?

It is an interior aircraft cabin scene. So only small portholes to the outside. Small spots on the panels above the seats and ive put vray plane lights around the sides to act as the main wall lights.

I have tweaked the settings, and after looking at a photo the lighting isnt too far off now. It just looked wrong cause I wasnt comparing it to a photo, but it actually does do something similar on the photo too.

              Cheers
