Im working through 'Deconstructing The Elements' book.
In one of the tutorials on creating fire, it uses raytrace material to create a very convincing fire.
I've been trying to recreate the look that the raytrace fog creates. This is using blobmesh geometry, maybe this isnt possible using a vray mat.
Ive tried using all kinds of settings, ive tried using a blend material combining a VrayLightMat (for the bright edge, and to substitute the self-illumination) and a normal vray mat with some transparency/fog/opacity. But never get anywhere near it.
Note: Ive been messing with the colours and particle settings and whatnot which is why it no longer looks exactly like fire
But it still has the same material effect.
Ive attached a pic to show the effect im trying to acheive. This was rendered in scanline using raytrace.
Any Ideas?
