  • HDR environment vs sky generators plugs

    Hi,

got a little question, using vray in max i use hdr picture from dosch and others to illuminate my scenes. Now i'm thinking about buying a sky generator like Ozone ( http://www.e-onsoftware.com/products...ne_3.0/?page=2 ) or dreamscape ( http://www.afterworks.com/DreamScape.asp?ID=3 ) to do my lightings.
I believe that this is better because you just buy it one time and can do all type of sky with it, but i already gave a lot of money to build my hdr database.

what you guys think, what are your experiences ?

There was/is a market for this kind of product?????
*g* ..just wonder if someone really need more then 5-6 differnt hdri's

        anyway

give this script a try .. it's a *simple* clouds material for vray or Mr.
It's only the common plane with a texture but a streamlined UI which is flexible enough to create many kinds of clouds except Cumulus clouds

You can use Dreamscape pretty well with VRay, it works well BUT if you're using vraysun with photometrically correct value (intensity = 1.0) and a VRay physical camera to expose, you have to crank the Dreamscape intensity waaay up (i think to 30 or so, don't remember right now). Dreamscape was made to work in normal Max light intensities, it does scale up but it get's harder to control. You'd have to play around with it until it gives good results. Once you get it right, though, you can get really nice aerial perspective and other stuff from it.

              Cheers,

              Jorge
