Carpet material

I'm trying to make a carpet like in the picture.

Do you think the best approach is displacement?
I'm trying with it but i'm not gettig good result.

I'd go for a texturemap...depending on how big you're going to render.
As you can see it's a really fine carpet and you can't even see the fabric in the photo.
