Will Vray be able to take advantage of this card?

Will be able to tell you if/when we get our hands on the actual hardware. In any case, V-Ray RT allows a number of (hardware) acceleration schemes.

    Best regards,

Does that mean that you’re actually trying to get one of these cards, or is it a wait and see kind of thing?

I know exactly as much as you do on the matter. I did contact the guys; I don't have a respose. Seeing as how the cards are to be available in April, perhaps things will be more clear at that time.

        Best regards,
        Vlado

Fair enough, that's for the insight Vlado I look forward to hearing more about this as it develops.

You're having contact with them already Vlado?

I'm surprised these guys haven't answered you back Vlado. It's unbelievable that a product like this wouldn't be chasing up all leads it can!

We have similar things happen to us at work all the time, and the suppliers wonder why they don't get the work!

Ah, they did answer eventually. We'll see how things go...

I was surprised to hear that they were charging $4000 to any developer that wanted to use their card, is that a normal practice? Vlado if you do decide to develop new software using this card I hope you will be able to keep us in the loop.

Well, it's understandable since Caustic just bought Splutterfish (Brazil)!

It's in their press releases... http://www.caustic.com/company_press-releases.php
                            www.dpict3d.com - "That's a very nice rendering, Dave. I think you've improved a great deal." - HAL9000... At least I have one fan.

                              wow, this is really interesting.
put the caustics guys on my watch-list

i guess support for this in vray RT would be extremly cool (from what i read on their page there they want support any rendering software which in interested, brazil is only one example they make themselves to demonstrate the techology)

                              cheers
                              stefan
