  • Vray fur and low cpu usage with Xeons

    Hi

I'm rendering a humanoid monkey which is covered by several Vray furs to simulate real hair and stuff. My problem is that when I'm trying to render one animation frame of the monkey with my Quad Core Xeons x2 task manager shows only 20% of general usage. Does Vray supports only 1/4 of the processors when dealing with about 8 Vray furs ? What to do with that to optimize render time? I'm running Vista Ultimate 64 bits , Vray 1.50 SP3 and 3dsmax 2009.

    best greetings

You will need to increase the dynamic memory limit to give V-Ray more memory for the fur geometry.

    Best regards,

I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

I've increased memory limit already to about 5000 ( I have 8GB physical memory ) and set it to auto. Tried with static/dynamic but nothing has changed.
