  • General Max Question. Viewport issues.

Hi guys, I have a Max Viewport question.

Does any body suffer these problems:

Switching to camera view. Nothing displays until you either change to Smooth+Highlights or Wireframe.

Change to top view. Clicking/creating in the viewport causes it to reset to user view. Creates nothing.

These two problems are really staring to get on my nerves. I have a Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS. I am running Studio Max 2009 on Windows Vista x64 with 8GIG Ram. Driver is currently set to Direct X 9.0. I have redraw viewport set.

    Thnks
    Daniel

Have you tried the latest drivers?

P.S. Non V-Ray topics should be posted in Take 5

I have the same issues for over a year, I've just gotten used to it. I haven't updated drivers in a long time, mind refreshing my memory as to how I do it?

            Thanks Guys.

Updated Nvidia Driver. Updated to Smax SP1. Thought I was already on SP1 but I did a reinstall lately. Its fixed the viewport problems but Max crashes in DX10 mode. I'e never been able to use DirectX 10 with max.

dx10 is a hack in 3dsmax, better stick with 9.
