  • How does Ambient Occlusion work?

So AO has been included in SP3. But what is the workflow in Vray?

  • #2
Am not sure i get the question. AO has been there before. What's new is AO as a detail support for GI.

    Thorsten

Thanks for reply. What I am unclear about is the specific mention of AO in the changelog. In other apps you would see it as a seperate renderpass or texture map (like the dirt map) etc. I am confused as to what is ment with AO as a new feature in SP3.

What do you mean by "detail support"? Should I be looking for a checkbox somewhere?

Sorry that was confusing. There now is an additional global AO to create more detail and depth when using GI.

        see example 4 here

        The controls as described here

are in the Indirect illumination tab
