  • Bokeh Effect for Animation ?

    Hey guys,

I was just curious if someone does know a solution for the use of a bokeh effect in an animation ?

I usually render the zdepth, and make the DOF in post.
Additional to that you have some nice features to control a littel bit a kind of Bokeh Effect.

The thing is, it works fine for stills... but if I use the same method for animation, the light which is bouncing on different areas on almost every single frame makes the effect really freaky for animation.

The result looks like, you have flickering... but more than that... hyper crazy flickering... lol:

so.. woudl be really interesting to know what you guys think abotu that.

thx a lot and all the best,
    till later,

Bernie its your old buddy James

Dude use Depth of Field Pro for photoshop..a little slow and a little weird animating through photoshop but....the results are great. There's also Lens Care.

unfortunately i cant show frames from an animation i just completed with falling snow with bokeh effects caused by a rack focus......but here is an example of the quality of the depth of field from an older frame.

how are things in S Carolina anyway????

Try lenscare inside of after effects.

lenscare is a great plug ! it's amazing.
only thing lacking is the ability to "control" more easily the sharp zone
