I don't really have time to RND this right now, but is it possible to bake proxy lets say ambient occlusion to the uv texture?

Vladowe have multiple uv tiles spread out across several uv squares. I'm not even sure that's possible to bake in side max unless you separate each uv tile on individual map channel, but that would not be possible with a 16 million poly mesh...
