  • Vray Interior Scene and Moving objects

There have been several posts regarding Vray and Moving objects. The most recent was the book with moving pages.

While this works in some instances the more complex scenes it does not.
Animation Prepass and Animation Render method
I tried increasing the Interp.frames from the default 2 to as high as 10. It greatly reduces the flickering but doesn't eliminate it. While it worked in some sections it doesn't work in areas with lots of glass.

    The old method

Works good but becomes very time consuming when you have a great deal of frames to render.

    The BruteForce Method
Works on exterior scenes but gets extremely expensive on interior scenes with lots of lights. Unless you don't have a deadline.

One other method is to calculate the irr map with the glass door off then turn it back on when you got to render the Main Pass. Making sure you have generate GI turned off on the glass door.
Clear glass works but if the objects are opaque it will not.

When you have an interior scene with 25 to 30 lights
I'm curious to now if anyone has any other methods or ideas.

I see that in Vray 1.5 SP3 there is a Use camera path option I'm hoping this will help eliminate the flickering in moving objects.
