  • Render Out Objects and shadow only

    Hi,

I have a simple scene that consists VrayPlane, a 3d object and several lights, s it possible to render out just the 3d object and shadow?

I need to import the image into PowerPoint whose background may change.

    Thanks

    Sanj

yes, go to your ground plane and go to its vray properties. Then choose matte object, with shadows.

you need to set the alpha contribution to -1, in the matte properties.

You can also set your VrayOverrideMaterial to a VrayMtlWrapper with "Matte surface" "Shadows" and "Affect alpha" checked. Along with the alpha contribution at -1.0.
Then just use the OverrideExclude and select your people.

Its nice when you don't want to go through objects and adjust their individual material properties.

Hmm, I've tried this but still cannot get this working as I need, just to clarify...

I have the VRay plane that a 3d box sits on, the box casts a shadow on the VRay plane, if I set the VRay Plane to Alpha Matte and alpha contribution to -1, when I save as a PNG file only the box is shown no shadows - am I doing something wrong?

            Thanks!

Here's the image but as you can see no shadow - I've tried all setting as per the previous posts.

              Any ideas?
