Exposure Calculation

Hi All,

Heres a question...

Say I have a phisical camera set up at 1/2000 f8 iso800 and this renderes the scene exacly as I like.

Now lets say I want to change one of those setting - for example change the shutter from 1/2000 to 1/300 (for MB maybe)

My question is, once I change a setting like that (shutter) my image will also change, is there a way (a online calculator maybe) or a formular for getting the same overall lighting by changing the remaining settings automaticaly without me having to eye ball it?

There are plenty of exposure charts out there. A quick search popped up these.

Shutter speed and ISO work together, so changing one will affect the other. For simplicity sake, leave the F-number out of it.

with you settings of ISO = 800 and shutter speed = 2000 (in vray numbers) if you wanted to get your ISO to 200, just divide the shutter speed by the same (4) and you'd get 500.

So, just divide both by the same number to keep the image exposure.

I know there are calculators out there, but some of them just get too complicated!

copy your current settings, note the EV, adjust, and try and match the EV

If I try and do it in my head, then i end up writing down f-stops from memory, so I find the calculator quicker!
