  • PSD Manager alternative?

Cebas PSD Manager is integral to my workflow. I sent Cebas email several weeks ago asking if it wil be ported to Max 2010 and the reponse was yes. But unless my instincts are wrong, Cebas is a dying fish flopping about gasping it's last breath. So, is there a good alternative to PSD Manager? I've tried Vray elements but they don't seem as slick unless I'm missing something. Would it be difficult for ChaosGroup to write a PSD Manager type plugin?

I dont have an answer to your psd manager question, but why do you think cebas is going under? They have alot of plugins.

Their web site is rarely updated. Their forums get a few posts a week. Their announcement page, the "place to get information about what is going on here" hasn't had a post since March 2008! Their Oracle has been dead for a long long time. Need I go on? Even some of their own faithful customers are saying that the war is over, that Vray has won. Visiting their web page is actually kind of sad, like walking through a ghost town where children used to romp and play.

Now, back to the PSD Manager question. Anyone got any ideas?

save as .exr and open in PS with proexr ? you will have all the channels you have set up, but of course you have to do the multiply etc between the layers you have set up.
I am sure this is scriptable in PS...

I've been thinking this for years, their forum is like a zombie that stumbles around and shows little sign of life. I'm an ex-final render user and once I moved over to Vray I understood why no one seems to use their products and their forum is so poor.

Already done, although I haven't tried it myself...http://www.chaosgroup.com/forums/vbu...ad.php?t=41740
            www.dpict3d.com - "That's a very nice rendering, Dave. I think you've improved a great deal." - HAL9000... At least I have one fan.
