  • Render Blowup -- bad textures

I'm trying to zoom in on a small area using Render Blowup.

The objects' edges render nice and crisp -- however the textures all look very low resolution. Instead of the textures coming in sharp (the base bitmaps have plenty of resolution), they look like it a regular render which zoomed in and just scaled up.. blurry and pixelated.

    I'm using Max 2009 -- and Vray SP3.

I'm using a physical Cam -- don't know if that matters. I can't do much testing at the moment... but something definitely seems wrong.

Note: If I create a new camera and zoom in the focal length like crazy without using Blowup -- I get a nice render.

You can either turn off the texture filtering in the global switches rollout, or reduce the blur amount of the textures.

    Best regards,

I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

Thanks Vlado. That did the trick. Is that blurring by design? Or an anomaly due to the way Blowup works?
