this is in the archives now so I'll repost:
so I've remembered an old trick with refraction, if you have two planes of glass the light bends back to normal, that way I can use the VRay refraction but with out a large amount of distortion or render times (with standard materials).
I did a quick test of this, I have two planes with normals pointing away from each other(though I make the mat'l 2 sided), and refect on back off, my IOR is 1.517. seems to be working. I'll really find out when my test animation renders.
just seeing what you guys have to say about it (Valdo, ect.)
