  • realflow & mblur

    Hi,

I have gone through a few posts on this and I still do not have the correct workflow.

I have a realflow mesh with velocity stored in it.

However the only way I can get mblur out of it is, as the posts say, to have a slow shutter speed. However this then blurs the whole scene on the moving camera.

Is there a way of just applying mblur to the RFmesh, or am I missing something fundamental?

    Cheers

if assuming RF exports its mesh with motion blur info to each vertex. scale would play a big part in RF wouldnt it?

Thanks, deflix, but I cant get effects' mblur to work either. Do you just add in to effects and then render with vray as normal?

and Da_elf I have tried lots of scale variations but no joy yet.

        Cheers

Two things you might wanna look after.

First make sure you did export Speed information with the mesh from realflow
And secondly keep FPS in mind. I recently had the issue that i forgot that Velocity is FPS dependent as it is defined as movement per frame basically. Hence if you sim at 250fps and use it in a 25fps scene velocities will be greatly off.

          Regards,
          Thorsten

And take into acount that the mblur built in max doesn't works with the vray virtual frame buffer.

I have officially cracked the realflow motion blur pain in my ass problem. Seems video camera setting is not supported, I used movie camera. Go to vray properties of your .bin mesh and make it object motion blur (standard max). That seems to do the trick.
