can i execute 64bit 3dsmax files on a 32bit 3dsmax software

hi there, i want to buy a new workstation and want it to run on 64bit.
i know that i can execute 32bit 3dsmax-files on 64bit 3dsmax software, but can i also edit 64bit 3dsmax files on a 32bit 3dsmax program?

Yes you can, as long as it's the same version of max there's no problem going between the two. Though if it's a complex scene you may not have sufficient memory on the 32-bit machine to render from it.

there are known issues with "edit poly" modifier
vertex not in correct possition

I've also had issues with some Boolean operations, when the stack hasn't been collapsed, not displaying properly going between 64bit and 32bit systems.
