  • Animated Proxy Rendering with Black bits

    When I render out the scene with the animated proxies, they have black bits on them randomly flickering from frame to frame;

    http://www.inlightin.co.uk/images/Proxy%20Mess.jpg

    Apologies for the small image bit the strange thing is that when I render at a higher resolution, the black bits get smaller but are still there.

    Has anyone come across this ?

    Thanks for any help.

            Irrad map and LC.

            There are alot of settings and little techniques that I am using so, what specifically are you referring to ?

              Im just wondering if using a single frame GI approach will clean that up

                I tried pre calculating each frame and it helped, I think there are a number of factors that caused the problem and there is no one thing that I can say has solved it.

                It either happens or it doesn't.

                As soon as this project is over, they are getting binned.

                  wait. your saying you used a precalculated map on a moving object?

                      Believe it or not but, I used the method for a static animation and it worked brilliantly but you have to make the moving objects not visible to GI.

                      For no good reason all of a sudden these black bits started to appear after numerous successful tests.

                      The black bits still show when I render still images with their own Irrad and LC solutions so, the method above can't be the cause. Also, when I render the image at 3000 pixels - the black bits are still there but alot smaller.

                      Its all very confusing.

                        Ok - the solution to get rid of the black bits;

                        Untick 'Check Sample Visibility' in the Irrad Map rollout.

                        Can't believe that caused me so much hassel.
