Help with Leaf Material

Hey guys, was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction, my previous employer had invested on the Onyx library but i just recently started using them. I have tried all types of materials however i keep getting dark spots here and there inside. How do you guys get such great looks with Onyx trees and where do you get the textures from. I see really great images out there sometimes with them. Any help would be appreciated.

(mine come out dull and look like plastic lol. Ill post some images tommorow not home right now.)

are you using the "plates" option? or just the standard leaves?

i guess just standard. ive been saving them and importing the 3ds files with mat id.
