  • MAX's RAM Player

    Hi,

I have been having issues with Max's RAM Player. When I try to assemble a thousand stills and create an AVI the animation stops way short of the 1000 frames. I have tried an several machines and each one does the same thing. Is this a known issue? When I import the stills into Quicktime all is well, except it takes forever.

    Thanks in advance,

never used the ram player to do that, but can it be a memory related problem?

Plays nice, but you can't save it as a video.

if you dont have anything to put your still together (AE premiere etc) why not just use video post in max. its there, its free, it works and you can do basic compositing with it rather than having to download other programs it can be done inside an empty max scene. for some strange reason ive posted that many times and no one comments on if its a foolish idea or not but it does work

I think the RAM player has a memory cap, i've had issues with this before when a path was over a few gig.

I keep forgetting video post exists. I've only heard it mentioned on forums/guides too, no idea where it is in max. haha.

                Ram Player

My initial post was the RAM Player chops off my animation. It'll load all the frames, but when you save out it'll stop way short. The memory cap is 4095MB

Give this a go for that - http://www.virtualdub.org/ - use the video > Set frame rate options and compression for your output settings.
