  • Use camera path and 'from file'

Doing a bit of animation and using 'Use camera path' fop the LC and IrMap (which is cool BTW!). Once the calc has run and we save out the resultant data, we then flick over to 'From file' for both the LC and IrMap.

Its just a little thing really, but shouldn't the options for 'Use camera path' etc be greyed out when you do this to prevent possible hiccups?

I have found a few things like this with vray over the years that seem to be mutually exclusive, but still seem to be mutually inclusive. Can't think of any others off hand, but this has just come up as I am working on it now and thought I'd share it.
    Kind Regards,

Unless I'm somehow mistaken, that option is ignored once you are going from file. I dont see how it could intrude or cause problems in "from file" / renering mode; or at least it hasn't caused any issues for me.

I appreciate that it shouldn't cause problems. Its just a comment about clearing up the interface a bit really. If 'from file' is selected, all excluded aspects should be greyed out. It just reinforces the user's knowledge of what is happeneing. I might accidentally leave 'from file' selected thinking that the check box for 'use camera path' was in fact calculating my solution, when, in fact, it isn't.

I agree, especially since it can get repetitive and I often make mistakes when I'm jumping camera to camera sending irr passes and final passes. I guess it comes down to taking your time, because when you don't, your often left with a messy still/animation that looks more like a three-year-old's water color. Not a good surprise in the morning.

Exactly, and typically these kind of settings are done at the absolute last minute when mistakes are easily made.
