MAX log

Does max have a log file like v-ray does? I looked, but I can't find one. It would be great to have that black box to find out what happened right before the crash. I have a scene that has been crashing during the rendering process and I can't trace it down to any one thing. The last I remember is v-ray returned an error, but I forget what it was. It was some kind of unhandled exception. I merged the scene into a new one, but it is still crashing. V-ray isn't returning any errors so I was hoping I can track it down through MAX.
