  • Vray opened on multiple PCs

    hi!

I've 3 PCs into my studio, and I've installed Vray on all of them; that one with the USB pen has a full installation (server), the others are the nodes.

If I open 3dsmax on PC01 and I work on a scene all works correctly.
Then If I colse 3dsmax on PC01, I open it on PC02 and I work on another scene all works correctly again.

But If I open PC01 and I launch a render on the single machine, then, while PC01 is rendering a scene, I open 3dsmax on PC02 to work on another scene in the meantime, Vray doesn't start, it gives to me a license error.

Isn't possible to open more 3dsmax+vray scene on different PCs in the same time?

I guess you can't with a single license, you'd need a license for each vray installation (same as 3ds max). you can use up to 10 vray servers at one time with one license, but only for dr.

To avoid this you can net render using backburner

You can, but then you will need to install the license server on all machines. When you started a render inside Max you can remove the dongle and take it to another PC where you can again interactively work with VRay. If you have enough authorized Max-installs of course !
