  • License Server and PC Conncection Limit

I have a question regarding the Non-Server Windows PC Connection limit and whether or not I can get away with making a Windows XP64 machine my Vray license Server and still be able to support over 10 backburner PCs at a time without random dropping?

    Thanks - Dave

This might not answer your question - But I believe that Windows 7 allows 20 connections, and not the usual 10 as in XP and Vista..

That's an interesting piece of information, seeing as half of my farm PCs are on Win7 64 beta right now. Well I tried this theory out last night putting my license server on a WinXP64 machine and so far, 14 PCs are rendering just fine without any license dropping issues. I guess I answered my own question. Thanks!

That is interesting....has anyone found anything official from Microsoft...as far as the 20 peer limit?

I have not found anything official from Microsoft, but when sharing a folder in Windows 7 (at least in RC1), the number of simultaneous users can be set to max. 20 - Cool stuff indeed
