  • Multi material with fog multipier

Hi, I'm having a problem using a fog multiplier on a multi sub object material. I am trying to create simple fritted glass. like below.

I only want the front face to have dots, so I created a multi map with a simple glass material including a slight fog to give it some colour (MAP1). then I duplicated it and in the refraction slot use a radial gradient map to form the dots. I also instance this to the diffuse slot to make the dots white (MAP2).

If I apply the materials individually they render normally but when I use the within a multi map and assign it to a rectangle with only the front face MAP2 the rest MAP1 it renders very dark. If I remove the fog it renders clear so I guess it has something to do with the fog multiplier.

Does anyone have any solution to make this work or am I barking up the wrong tree?
The 2 renders below show the results with just MAP2 applied and with the multi map applied.
