  • Vue 8 and VRay

I remember from a while back that when Vue 7 was the current version there were a number of people on these forums who advised that this software was best avoided like the plague. Now that Vue 8 is out is this still the case? I'm interested in Vue's ability to render cloudy skies and atmospherics and was wondering if it was compatible with VRay. I emailed the guys at Vue 3 weeks ago and got absolutely no response at all, which isn't a great start. I'm also aware that they do a stand alone sky generator (Ozone), but this has yet to be updated to be in line with Vue 8.

So, any happy Vue 8/VRay users out there? Or does it still suck?

Would be very interested in views on this too.
I seem to remember the feedback on 7.5, which was officially Vray-compatible, being disastrously bad.
I've been holding off on v8 because of this, and because of the appallingly slow render times I've experienced playing with a standalone PLE a few versions back (I didn't bother with the 7.5 PLE, which remains the latest available) so any comment or first impressions much appreciated.

In my experience it really doesnt matter how "well" they work together. The Vue content will still be rendered by the Vue renderer. To get anywhere near flicker free will take that renderer ALOT of rendertime. Vray
can render veg so much faster, that for me , the time saved from faster setup is so far offset from the longer render times that it is still not usable for animation.
