Max Memory limit for Raycaster 3GB?

I try to set the memory limit for the raycaster to something like 10Gb , but it won´t accept more than 3. If I type 10000 and hit return, it goes down to 3000. I have a lot of displacements and will probably need more. Any hints?

As i understand if your in a 32bit Operating System your limited to 3g, 64bit Operating Systems allow for much higher memory limits.

Ok, thanks. However I am sending the render from a 32-bit workstation through Backburner to my 64-bit rendermachine. How can I set it to use more memory on that machine?

I dont think you can. Your sending a job from 32bit max to backburner. Its only going to send it to 32bit max installs on your renderfarm.
