  • Interior Lighting

Just wondering about a small thing I noticed when lighting an interior scene.

I have a hdri mapped to the environment slot and a vray sun - all good so far but when I put a vray light in the window and turn it on it seems obstruct the sun light.

Is there some vray basic rule that I am missing here ?

    Thanks

You must make the light invisible.

Invisible was ticked in the modifier rollout.

I suppose Vlado was thinking about "invisible" as object properties

All the visibility options in the Object Properties are greyed out.

The "invisible" check box in the "options" area of the "light parameters" roll-out is where you do this setting, no?

              It is already ticked.

When you say block the sunlight, are you talking about direct sunlight or GI environment light? I've noticed before that Vray plane lights effectively block all the environment light. The only way around it as far as I could see was to use them in 'skylight portal' mode. There shouldn't be an issue with blocking direct light though as long as the plane lights are invisible.
