I7
[QUOTE=Mikokariadis;417194]Thanks for clearing that up Nestamonk, we happen to have nearly the same config. I have the same motherboard and cpu. Have you set HT on and adjusted for the proper number of threads?[/QUOTE
How do I know HT is on I have 8 threads running now. How much ram do you have in your system and is the machine fast for you.

Hyperthreading On
It's turned on, its showing 8 buckets as it renders. I'm assuming I need to upgrade to more then 4gigs of ram. I had a friend test my scene on his dual zeon T5500 with 6gigs of ram with an Nvidia Geforce 512 card. It took 18seconds to render on his running windows 64bit.
I just tested the scene on my machine it took 6minutes. I understand its a dual zeon, but I still think this machine can render and image under 1minute. Its a very basic scene. Any thoughts on what to do.

Max 2010
The culprit to all of the slow rendering is Max 2010. I even installed the patch sp1 from autodesks website. I ended up installing Max 2009 64 Design. My rendertimes are blazing fast now. The scene went from rendering at 6min per frm in 2010 64bit to 15sec with Design 2009 64 bit. I'm also running Vray Sp2. My scene is real simple but thats the times I need to make quick changes as the director is constantly changing stuff.
