  • Moofe Free Samples.

    Hi Guys,

Have been checking out Moofe.com for the last couple of days trying to learn how to match the quality of their HDR/Backplate Setups with my own Setup

To cut it short they have 5-6 Free Samples (2-3GB) of content to test out.

    Heres the link.

hi i just downloaded the free examples from moofe.com ... really big babies ... uhh

now started trying to match the backplates in 3DS Max 2010 with a stock camera
(backplate image in the background slot, output size same as backplate, 1m cube, )

in adobe bridge EXIF Data shows me: hasselblad H3DII-39 ... 35mm lense

but in max i get the best match with a 28mm stock lense

        any idea why that differs?

You have to set the Aperture Width in the common rollout in the render dialog to 49mm. The 48mm given in the pdf of the package is wrong. If you match your camera again, you will get values around 35mm. The rest depends on your camera matching skills

          Regards

Also the Hasselblad is a medium format camera so you have to factor this in. Since the Camera in question has a sensor size of 48 x 36mm you have to either change the film gate settings in the Vray cam to 48mm and use a 35mm focal length or, if you leave it at the default 36mm, then you have to calculate the equivalent focal length for the 35mm lens which in this case is 26.25mm.

Edit: Just noticed that's a £12,000 camera right there. Ooft!

... ok tested both ... changing the film gate and changing the focal length by the wright factor (48/36=1,33)... and both works fine ... thank you guys for the theory

              @ stef.thomas
              what´s your problem with the £12,000 ?
... if you drink one guiness less ...every hour ...that would be 24 guiness a day ... 24 x 365 x factor x beer x factor x year ... and if you stop smoking it´s even faster
and there it is ... your new hasselblad ... tell me if it works
ok ... just joking ... £12,000 is really heavy
