  • Dark buckets using DR

    Hi guys!

I am rendering an image ising DR at the moment using 4 dual athlon machines. Some of the buckets that have been rendered look darker than the others Any idea why this is happening?

I am using max 5 and the latest version of Vray.

Please help I have a tight deadline!

buckets will allways give you differing renders for each bucket, as far as I know you use them to get a general idea of you scene without having to calculate the entire irrandiance map. so use single or multi frame.

Sorry I should have said im not using an irradiance map... im using direct computation so there should not be any darker buckets in my render

Make sure your DR slaves have access to all maps used in the scene.

what kind of lighting do you have in the scene? DR doesn't work with the max default lightsource.

I have exactly the same problem here, seems that each image from the same scene on one machine differs from each other, sometimes it comes brighter and sometimes darker. Dosnt matter if i'm using direct computation or irradiance map ;(
I'll try to post a example later.

do you have mixed systems? AMD and pentium? possibly they each calculate erco lights differently. no idea since ive never even heard of them

no, this happens on one single system (P4Xeon). The fist frame is bright and the second frame is a bit darker, then the next is brighter again and so on.

I'm having a similar problem. Some buckets shade differently than others. Is what R2J2 said correct? I haven't had this problem until lately, the buckets always blended together with no seams.

This issue is usually due to either entering the Auth code wrong or using a bad cracked V-Ray. You may want to double check your auth code you got from Chaos.
