        You're a legend egz.

        Specigically tuned materials, ala brazil shaders, is exactly what I've been looking for. the deadlines we worked to are often same day turn arounds so I don't have much time to stuff around with materials.

        question for you though, any chance of adding a specular highlight control back into the material? I'm not very fond of using the shellac material because it complicates your materials. I presume the more complex your material the slower it gets too.

        Out of curiosity, what type of glass is the glass shader based upon? It obviously has some sort of default reflectivity and perhaps fog colour applied to it?

        I second the request for a Metal shader, preferrable a nice brushed metal with nice specular highlights for flat surfaces..ooohhhh yeah!!!

        Finally, when I load up the 2 test shaders, I get an error message from my scripted plugin handler - "unknown system exception"

        It doesn't seem to stop the material from loading od rendering though.

          network rendering error

          i'VE LOADED THE PLUGIN'S ON MY MACHINE, AND THEY WORK GOOD, HOWEVER, WHEN I TRY TO OPEN THE SAME FILE ON ANOTHER MACHINE i RECIEVE A MAXSRIPT HANDLER EXCEPTION ERROR, AND A MAX SCRIPT PLUGIN HANDLER EXCEPTION. . .CLICKING OKAY, I'M OFF TO THE MODEL, HOWEVER, AS SOON AS i PULL UP THE MATERIALS BROWSER, MAX CRASHES. . .THIS IS MAKING NETWORK RENDERING VERY DIFFICULT. i REMOVED THE SCRIPTS, AND WAS ABLE TO OPEN THE FILE ON ANOTHER MACHINE, HOWEVER IT'S LOOKING FOR THE MISSING DLL? THOUGHTS?

            TWO THINGS EITHER REMOVE THE MATERIAL FROM ALL OBJECTS IN THE SCENE AND FROM THE ME OR INSTALL THE PLUGIN ON ALL THE MACHINES

              bug

              That's the problem, I did install the plug-in on the other machines. . .and that's when I recived the script errors. . .When I delete the plug-ins I only recieve the missing plug-in error. . .when I removed the material from the model and the ME I have no problems. But I liked the wax material. . I was able to use it with the blend funtion and add a vraymap reflection subtle reflections, it was nice.

                  The script error might be due to the maxscript material bug in pre 1.09.03j VRay builds. Make sure you have the latest version.

                  Since I'm back from vacation now I'll get around to uploading the updated versions also this week. Some improvements to the old ones, and a few new materials...

                        Small update posted

                        Changes in 0.6:
                        • Added support for affect shadow and affect alpha in the glass material.
                        • Made the color pickers non-modal
                        • Added the first version of the object light material.
                          For best results, adjust the RGB multiplier until the object looks correct in reflections, then increase the GI multiplier if you need more illumination. The defaults here will most likely change later.
