Hmm I mean VrayMats that were a prototypes for ur materials. I mean, please, share them as a matlib, not as a compiled script. If it's possible of course

          • See the above post for info on how to convert them. Then you are free to make your own matlib.

The whole point of the materials is to simplify the user interface, and distributing them as VRay materials in a matlib defeats that purpose so I won't be doing it.

There is also some scripted logic in several of the materials, so that several parameters are affected by adjusting one value. When converted to VRay materials you lose these functions, although for full tweak control you can of course do that

                • Just copy the egzMaterials folder from /scripts/startup/ in your max root to the same location on the other computers.

                    • Egz, great mats! I've been using them for a while now, and just converted all of my Dosch vehicles to use your paint material. Anyway, thanks for the mats, and I hope that someday you might be able to further the development of these awesome libraries!!

Along that line - It seems to have been about a year since you posted the last update to the materials, and I may be wrong in asking this, but is there anyone in this forum that is familiar enough with scripting these materials that could further their creation as a co-developer? Many of us do not have the time (or the mental capacity/mindset, as in my case) to master the settings of VRay, and could make great use of "wizzard" libraries such as yours. Perhaps since so many of us have drooled over your initial offerings, there might be enough of a following and interest that you could offer your library for sale.

You may not even be interested in furthering their development, and even less interested in a co-developer, but I thought it would be worth mentioning for the good of VRay users across the globe.

                      Thanks,
                      Eric

                      • Hi Eric, and thanks for your comments!
There is actually some development going on at the moment, but I've been rather busy lately so progress is kind of slower than I would like it to be. There should be a matterial update in the near futuure though. And I will take the present materials out of their beta status, they've been tested pretty thoroughly now The materials will remain free.

                        • Hi egz!
First I must say that I'm very impressed by your Shaders! They are very nice and easy to use.
One thing I miss though. A check box for Reflect on back side.

Would it be easy to implement?

                          /Richard

I hope you are talking about the glass shader...
It is checked on - by default... as normally glasses have this feature...

                            Best regards,

                            • Mind you the materials are basically just preset settings for a vraymaterial. HereĀ“s info on how to convert the material to
                              a normal vray material :

                              http://vray.info/topics/t0109.asp

Then you got the same settings, but all the options visible.

                              BTW. Great work egz

                              Regards,
                              Thorsten
