  • DR - Spawner problem fixed ?

    Hi

    I am trying to DR on a system with both 2009 and 2011 and the slave seems to launch the 2009 spawner and not the 2011 one.

    How can it be solved ? Was it fixed ? should I try the XML trick Vlado posted here a couple of weeks ago ?

    There are different spawners for 3ds Max 2009 and 2011; the machine might be still set up to run the old one.

      So what should I do if I still use 2009 (until I move 100% to 2011) and want to run 2011 as well ?
      3ds Max 2016/2021 (Vray 6.x), Windows 10 64bit , AMD 2990WX ThreadRipper 32/64 Cores, 128 gigs RAM , 2X RTX3090 48GB RAM

        First, make sure you start the right instance of spawner on each machine. There is a spawner in max 2009 and one in max 2011 directories. Make sure you firewall unblock the right ones too.

          It is not possible currently to run two spawners at the same time on the same machine; it might be possible to run the 2011 spawner only - it should work fine with scenes submitted from 3ds Max 2009.

            Are you saying that actually the slaves will run 2011 but render the scenes from 2009 ?
            Aren't there any compatibility issues ?

              It will probably work fine most of the time; 3ds Max is largely backwards compatible.
