  • VMaterial Enviroment map slot

    well, can somone please explain to me what exactly this slot does. of course it must be something with the enviroment, but itz even more confusing that there isn't any value to tweek.
    and no, i dont found nothing in the VRay help

    for example: am i able to input there for every material a different hdri?

    yes, the environment in a material will override global environments locally (VRayEnvironment Overrides, standard max environment etc.).

      hmm, that sounds simpler than i thought! are there some advices about using hdri's? ...like maybe a certain minimal resolution, or does it behave like a mapped VRayDomeLight? feels strange to me that there arent any more values to tweak, that doesen't feels VRAy like

        Minimal Resolution depends on the FOV and the target resolution. What kind of values would you expect ? It's a reflection map. It doesnt override any other reflection settings, nor cast light or whatever. It's a simple environment override.

            i believe the order is material environment first if its used, then render settings environment slot next if used the lastly max environment slot
