    First Image: Max 2009
    Second Image: Max 2011

Both images are rendered with Vray 1.5 SP5, with same IM+BF and AA settings.
Filter Bitmaps are unchecked from Global Switches.

I actually like the 2011 version but I am curious about it.
    Anyone has any idea why?

hi, first one looks like rendered with dof... the leg in the background with some blur. maybe thats why the bitmaps look different.

No there is not any DOF. They are rendered with same settings and camera.

The bitmap filtering seems to be a bit different between the two; Autodesk have done a number of changes in the bitmap code for the several recent releases, so it might be normal.

          Thanks for the reply
I think 2011 renders much better.

doesn't seem a difference limited to the filtering of the bitmaps to me, it looks as if the first image has a blurring aa filter on while the second has none (or maybe a sharpening one).

The AA filters are exactly the same VRAY Sinc filter with same settings min1 and max4.

that is weird, to me the two images are quite different. I think the differences between the bitmaps depend on the overall sharpness of the second one. you can see that on reflections on the metal (which look much more aliased), and the background as well. or am I totally wrong?
