I think that glossy interpolations are only with the advanced version.

        Thanks for the reply,

I'm using the advanced version and I can get interpolated reflections and refractions using vray material just fine. The reason I would like to get int. ref. thgrough vray maps is the ability to use complex max's materials without converting the whole thing to vray mat. When I choose vray map I get few options for adjusting type of reflections and refractions, but none for interpolating them. Is it possible or vray mats are the only way to go?

what sort of complex material can you get with standard material that you cant do with vray?

            Da_elf:

Vray has excellent materials, but they are set up bit differently form max's. I'm sure vray setup is better down the road (achieving specular qualities through reflections, ect.) but sometimes, like in my case, you may have an old scene with complex max's shaders and you would like to re-render them in vray without changing all materials, at the same time take advantage of vrays interpolated reflections. I'm sure vray mats are more competent than max's, but it's a matter time and convenience.

ah. i see. i know what you mean. thanks goodness ive already converted all of my old scenes. Sometimes i only converted the ones with opacity or reflections or refractions. the rest of the materials i left. just simply went through my material browser looking for anything with opacity map, reflection map or refraction map
