This is what I am trying to figure out.
There is one scene which DID use the slaves.
    others don't.

BTW - one of my slaves DOES show the Vray Dummy...

      Vlado

I created a simple scene and it did render
On the other hand I loaded a scene (a big one) and the slaves are "not responding"

IS there a parameter in the Render setup dialog that may influence it ?

        Vlado

I think there is a problem with the services when launcehd automatically:

I disabled the automatic launch of the spawners and when restarted and launched them manually - everything is OK.

In MAX 2009 I never had to do all of this - I just atrted the slaves - the spawners appeard on the taskbar + VrayDummy and all was OK.

Did you change that way things work ?

Nope; nothing has changed in that regard at all. Such issues are usually due to Windows permission issues - make sure the services run with the proper user account.

          Best regards,

If so - Why did this happen ?
I haven't changed anything in my Slave Pcs (they are only slaves)
the only thing changed is the installati0n of version 2011 and its related plugins' newest version.

How can I check for the permission thing ?

Go to Control Panel > Administrative tools > Services; right-click on the V-Ray spawner service, choose Properties..., go to the Log On tab, and make sure that you enter a proper user account for the machine (rather than using the default system account).

              Best regards,
              Vlado

                nirsul,

once I had the same problem until I realized that I started the wrong version (for max2009 instead of max2010) of the DR-spawner...

Actually I removed any version except 2011
I also tried Vlado's tip but it doesn't work.

So now I will have to do it manually.

                    Best regards,

I have run into this problem before. Pain in the a$$ to solve, but here's my solution.

Run BB 2007 on ALL machines. Make sure no other versions of BB are installed anywhere. Then in the windows registry, you'll need to make sure the registry points Vray to the correct location of the BB plugin files. Check out the attached screenshot of the registry editor. The folder the registry needs to point to is the location of the Nrapi.conf files for each version of Max you are running. You can leave the registry keys for other versions of BB if they are still there after uninstalling newer versions of BB. AFAIK, there aren't any recent enhancements to BB that make having a newer version mandatory. In fact I'm not aware of any differences between 2007 and any newer version. (anyone, feel free to point them out if they exist)
