  • Avoiding the yellowish sun light ?

    Hi
I am doing interiors and the lights that are on the walls and floors tenbd to be too yellowish.
I tried modifying every parameter in the VraySun - to no avail.

even tried playing t with the env color.

you can set the white balance with the vray camera to the yellow tinted value on a white surface, using the color picker. then it will be neutral.
or balance it out with blue skylight.
personally i often prefer using white lights only, to simplify things.

yeah then just use a white target direct and envronment, instead of sun/sky.

          Give these a try ...

          VRay Sun
Try setting both the Turbidity and Ozone of the VRay sun down to its lowest value (2 and 0 respectively)

          VRay Sky
If you are using a VRay Sky with your sun ... set its Turbity and Ozone down to its lowest values also:

          - drag the VRay Sky into a material slot
          - enable Manual Sun Node
          - set its Turbidity down to 2 and Ozone down to 0

Essentially, the lower these two values are, the cooler (bluer) the light it gives off.

          VRay Camera
If you are using a VRaycamera to render the scene with, make sure to set the white balance to "Neutral". The default (D65) white balance setting subtracts blue ... making the light from both the VRay Sun and Sky look warmer (yellow).

GI light bounced from outside objects (color cast)
Do you have large yellowish color/textured object outside that maybe bouncing light right through the window. If so, then the resulting color of the bounced light will take on this yellow color.

To combat this, apply a VrayMtlWrapper to the object first so that you have control over how much GI it is generating. Reducing its "Generate GI" value will control how much color cast light it contributes to the scene.
