I seem to have a dilema with reflections. it seems that the reflections always do not bounce properly or match. What i mean is that there is always 1 bounce or reflection that is black. the scene is an elevator lobby with steel everywhere. The doors are chorme and i set all reflections at 2 bounces. There is always an item in the scene that turns out black in the reflections. i tried 2/2, 2/3, 1/2, 2/1, 3/2 (these are for two reflective materials). there always ends up one that lacks a bounce. One material is a regular Vray MAt set to chrome (black diffuse, white reflect) and the other one is an interpollated glossy reflection with ward as shader. Is this how things really are? Is it because of the viewing angle or way it was modeled? any ideas, thanks.

2 reflection bounces is not a lot. Try increasing it to 5 or more.

changing the refection exit colour to somthing other then black can sometimes help without upping the bounces, though I'd first do what egz had to say. & compare quality/time

Also, we've encountered problems with mirrored objects rendering black. Try resetting the Xform. (you might need to flip the normals after doing this).
