  • things are turning too complicated

in the new demo there are reflect/refract interpolation options in the vray material.
why are these local settings? its a pain to change all materials for testrenders. i want a quick way to adjust overall detail/rendertimes.
i liked the way the interpolation samples were locked to the irridiance map previously. what is the point of many complicated local settings?
please dont turn vray to finalrender.

But there are other people too...
For example I think it was very - very good Idea, no gi needs for glossy refraction/reflection. Very useful.
Also if you want nice (interpolated ref/refr) then you dont need to use -2; 0
for the Irrmap, especially on the complex scene very handy, imagine how much time you could save with it...

Really easy to script, maybe I'll add it to the material tools I'm working on.

maybe there should be a checkbox under global switches, "use irradiance map settings for all glossy effects"
          Reflect, repent and reboot.
          Order shall return.

No, we just need a global option that sets glossy parameters for all glossy materials at once. If you uncheck this the mats use their local settings. Why would you lock it to the gi settings??
