  • i don't undestand ...

    i do not understand if

does it exist a difference between irradince map and clobal map or are the complementary?

moreover after creating an irradiance map and save it

if we use it another time does the speed increase or does the software need to recalculate it?

    thanks

irrandiance maps are good if the camera moves and geometry moves and would then be needed for each frame when its calculated.

global photon maps are good for when the camera moves and no geometry moves.

both of them can be saved to a map.

if u opt to re-use an irradiance map later, and the camera view is the exact same, then no, u do not need to recalculate the map.

hope this sorta explained it to ya.
