What is the difference between v-ray displacement and MAX's displacement? pro's/con's?

the two things that comes to mind is that with max displacment your object needs to have a cazilion polys. Vray works fine with just 1 poly.
Max displacement you can see realtime in viewport. vray disp can't and happens only at rendertimeKind Regards,

Vray displacement is generated in rendertime. So it wont slow down your viewport or eat you resources when calculating geometry for rendering.
It's basically calculated per bucket. When displacement subdivisions is needed in that bucket, it's calculated and after that used memory is released.
That makes vray displacement much more memory efficient than normal displacement.
