  • AA on or off

    Hi,
So after few reads here I decided to try to turn off AA for my renders. The result is pretty good in terms of detail, but no matter what I use to render (fixed, DMC or Adaptive sub), and no matter how high the setting I can't get clean edges, they are stepped always. Someone said it can be done by tweaking the settings, but I'm starting to think that the only solution is AA back on. Please see the stairs in the render, they are just too "edgy".

Are you using Sub-pixel mapping in Colour Mapping?????

Nope...hm, that totally sounds like something that would fix it. I forgot all about it. I'll try now. How come it's just on or off, and now detail settings?

Edit: Yep that worked Thanks a million!

How come there's a warning if I use sub-pixel saying that it might effect brightness?

because it does...it dims specular hilights.
