need advice for freaky sss illuminated pot

What material would you use for this and how would you achieve the light?

in particular the pot light for an early evening shot

Not SSS, but here's a quick example using Vray 2-Sided material...

The light is inside the pot, just like the real thing! A Max 2010 file is linked with this message so you can see it easily.
